Thank you for a great annual meeting!

We send a BIG “Thank You” to all those who attended the 15th Annual GPID Meeting to make it an amazing success!

We had 160 registered for our Crystal Anniversary event - which again sets a new record!  Friday’s event focused, for the first time, on the major reason for hosting the GPID Meeting – COLLABORATION!  It started from the very beginning with mixing up the table seating to create new connections between our investigators.  Part of what made it such a success was attendance by such a diverse audience, including attendees from the Olathe South and Lawrence Public School Systems, industry partners, undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs and faculty members from university settings from across the region.  Early feedback regarding the seating has been very positive.  We also thank Becca Peterson for leading the discussion on collaboration and networking, along with Shaylee Yount from KCALSI who demonstrated the Breezio portal and the Collaborate 2 Cure program to enhance regional communications and networking within the life sciences.

We also want to thank our sponsors and vendors, which are listed below, for their financial assistance.   Their generosity contributed greatly to the success of this meeting and we greatly appreciated their support!

We hope you all enjoyed the dinner before the Friday event and that you liked Subarna’s varied menu!  Another thanks to GE (Kurt Forge) for sponsoring the selection of beverages we were able to enjoy.  If you are in Lawrence, please take a minute to stop by City Wine Market at either 9th & New Hampshire or 6th & Wakarusa.  Steve and Jamie would be happy to supply you with your beverage needs!

We were also once again pleased to be able to use the School of Pharmacy building all day Saturday as our venue for the scientific talks and poster session.  Thanks to Dean Audus for allowing us access. All of the speakers gave wonderful and thought provoking presentations.

We thank the Union for great food on Saturday and also want to give special thanks to Nicole Suchy and Quinn Tulley for their IT support and to Nicole Suchy, André Faucher and Susan Wakefield for their coordination of logistics and materials for the meeting.

We are pleased to announce that the 16th Annual GPID Meeting will take place on November 10-11, 2017!  PLEASE SAVE THE DATE NOW! Also, please let us know if you have ideas on additional vendors who can donate!

We look forward to seeing all of you again next year!
