Overview

KVI four components

The KVI has four major components:

  • The KVI Administrative Core which has the goal of securing funding to allow the support pilot projects whose goals are the identification of new vaccine targets against human and animal pathogens.
  • The Immunology Core Laboratory which is available to affiliated researchers and has the goal to assist with the testing of immunogenicity, cytokine analysis, and cellular analysis.
  • The meeting component which is two folds.  KVI will sponsor regional meetings to establish collaborations for developing new vaccine leads and to announce services/opportunities that may be provided by the KVI and its affiliates.  KVI wil also sponsor a large annual meeting to help bring greater visibility to the KVI and the opportunities in the I-70 corridor.
  • The training and education outreach component  which, once research infrastructure is in place, will have the goal to train new investigators in vaccine development and educate the public on the efficacy, safety and importance/limitations of human and animal vaccines.
